June 20 2017, Wang Chunsheng and Zhang Li, Chief Engineers of CNOOC Research Institute led the team of experts visited Hann-Ocean Energy (Nantong) R&D facility.

Leaders and experts from CNOOC had deep and professional discussion and exchanges on ocean energy technology with Hann-Ocean team, witnessed “Drakoo” 10Kw WEC prototype generating electricity in Hann-Ocean’s own built “Hann-Ocean No 1”wave tank.

Both sides aligned that the key future collabration is to focuse on the combination of Drakoo WEC and CNOOC's marginal drilling platform. Moreover, they had preliminary discussion on the hydrodynamic conditions and the method to install Drakoo WEC to the drilling platform. Through this meeting, CNOOC research institute had a clear understanding about Drakoo WEC technology with the advantages of simplicity, efficiency, eco-friendly and cost effective. Zhang Li, the Chief Engineer of CNOOC fully affirmed the wave energy technology of Hann-Ocean Group and also expressed their enthusiasm for the cooperation between the two sides. Hann-Ocean Energy also looks forward to the cooperation in the future and hopes to consistantly maintain the communication to promote the developing progress of ocean energy technology jointly and achieve the goal of ocean energy development.
